About The Brewery
AlgeBrew was born from a shared love (borderline obsession) of beer and a background in Mathematics.
What started as two friends experimenting with stovetop homebrew kits has evolved into a fully licensed commercial brewery with a 150L Elite Stainless brew kit.
This is then fermented into beer in two 150L fermenters, a double batch 300L fermenter and our super experimental and small scale 30L fermenter. All of the fermenters are Brewtools UniTanks, a high quality Norwegian company, spanning the gap between the homebrew and commercial market.
Based in Petersfield, Hampshire, AlgeBrew is committed to creating a sustainable, community driven business rooted in a passion for great quality modern beer.
About the Brewers
Edd and Matt both discovered brewing after diving deep into the world of craft beer and the never ending world of Untappd...
Their mathematical minds lent themselves to the precise & scientific nature of brewing. Their initial setups quickly evolved from humble stovetops to something far more serious, especially after Edd’s move to Petersfield sparked an upgrade to the Grainfather G30. A fully automated all in one brewing solution.
Now, with over 100 beers under their belts, they’ve taken the leap into commercial brewing with the same curiosity, creativity and commitment that started it all.
About the Beer
AlgeBrew’s focus is on brewing modern, drinkable styles. Expect their core range to feature hop forward hazy IPAs, crisp and bitter West Coasts, and classic Cask Ales with a modern twist.
There will also be a focus on creating innovative and unique one off beers, moving with the brewing seasons. Expect bold fruited sours in the spring, crisp lagers in the summer, malt forward Red IPAs in the autumn and heavily roasted Imperial Stouts for those winter months by the fire.
Edd generally gravitates towards expressive, hazy and malt forward styles with depth and balance. Matt champions bold bitterness and clean finishes.
Cask ale is close to both their hearts and AlgeBrew plans to brew across the style spectrum, always with quality and flavour at the core.
